USEFUL STUFF I LOVE & RECOMMEND
One of the biggest global hosting companies, these guys can provide you with a domain name and host your website too. Their prices are reasonable and a https security certificate is included as standard.
I work 100% in the cloud now and, although you could use OneDrive, I use Google Drive to store all my data. I pay £18 a year for 100GB of storage which is more than enough to save all my photos and documents.
This is another online storage platform but it's much more expensive than Drive or OneDrive. A lot of your clients will use this to share documents with you so you should really know how it works though.
This is a lovely little RSS reader that I use to aggregate new posts from websites I follow. I then use Buffer to schedule interesting content to go out on social media so I don't have to spend all day posting stuff.
This is an absolutley incredible free and secure online system that keeps all your (and your clients) passwords safe. I use this every single day and would be completely lost without it. This is a must for any VA.
Hootsuite is a fantastic social media management platform that lets you create and schedule content to a variety of different accounts. VAs often use this one to schedule client updates as well as their own.
I use this to schedule one-off social media content that I come across online. The pro version let's you queue more content but the free one is still great. Get this if you want to post or schedule on the fly.
1ty.me is free and provides one-time self-destructing links so you can safely share sensitive information. This is the perfect way for clients to give you login details instead of sending them via email or instant message.
I've tried loads of to-do apps but Workflowy is by far my favourite. It's a free, simple and beautiful way of making notes and lists. It's very minimalist in style and I use it for organising both my personal and work life.
This is probably the best book I've ever read on pricing. It has loads of case studies (one is on a VA!), exercises to complete and a billion ideas for making more money. Every business owner should read this.
Scanners are people who can't seem to commit to one line of work and always have hundreds of projects on the go. Being a VA is perfect for Scanners as the work is so varied - reading this book was like being diagnosed!
My YouTube channel has loads of tips, training, walk-throughs, live Q&A sessions, interviews with new VAs and lots of other useful business stuff I think you'll find interesting. Why not subscribe while you're there!
This is a fantastic video on how women deal with money and sell stuff. Men just ask for money whereas women want to give everything away for free! Definitely worth a watch if you find money a difficult subject.
I love Casey Neistat and this is one of the most inspirational videos I've ever seen. It totally matches the way I see life and the way I want to live it - I especially like the bit about risk 4 mins in.
