The type of tasks I give my own Virtual Assistant

Although I had often outsourced the occasional one-off task, I was actually doing everything myself and only started regularly working with a VA after I broke down in tears after spending most of the week dealing with a host of support emails instead of getting any real work done. That was the moment I knew it was time to get some help.

The biggest blunder I ever made

Today I’m going to share a MASSIVE blunder that I made with my main client earlier this year just so you can see that it isn’t so much the mistake that matters, it’s how you respond and deal with that mistake that matters to the client. And hold on to your hats and hide behind your fingers, because this was a pretty big and rather embarrassing error!

How I survive winter without frostbite, fractures or an extortionate heating bill

Winter can be hard time freelancers. Your heating bills are huge, you freeze your butt off for 3 months and you’re constantly scared you’re going to slip on ice and put yourself out of business. I used to worry about staying warm and in one piece but I don’t any more because I now have fail-proof ways to get through winter without eye-watering bills or a trip to A&E.

I own every one of these books and know they will help your career and get you where you want to go.

My business birthday & some serious motivation

On Wednesday 10th June 2009 I left my job to become a full time freelancer. I wish I could say that I screamed “UP YOURS LOSERS!!” as I waved to my previous employers (without using all my fingers) whilst sprinting for the door with the contents of the stationery cupboard, but I didn’t. Instead I quietly walked out of the gates into the unknown.

20 random things you didn’t know about me

I really like telling you guys how to set up and become Virtual Assistants but I realised recently that it might be nice if you knew a bit more about me. So after racking my brain for an inordinate amount of time and deleting some rather incriminating and over-shary details, this is what I’ve come up with… don’t judge me!

My own Virtual Assistant story

This is a Virtual Assistant case study on MOI! You can read a bit about me here but this is the story about how I became a VA, what I did before I went freelance, how I manage clients and what I’d do differently if I had to start again. I set up Munro PA Services at the end of 2008 and I live by the sea in sunny Brighton.
